Longview Yakka Shiraz 2008

Nice shiraz from the Adelaide Hills. Gold Medal Winner from Decanter Mag. Priced circa €17 but on special at €12.00.

Very balanced wine and enjoyed it. Had this wine with a tomato rissotto which wasnt the ideal partnership. Vineyard itself has interesting looking accommodation on site.

Tasting Notes from Longview

Dark  brick red in colour with aromas of red berries, white pepper and baking spices exhibiting flavours of blackcurrant and dark cherry. Toasty oak characters are integrated perfectly with fine balanced tannins and the finish is spicy and long. Excellent to drink now and will benefit from 8-10 years of cellaring.
